PawZen ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described herein.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name and your dog's name.

Dog Profile Data

Information you provide about your dog during the assessment and ongoing use: breed, age, weight, triggers, reactivity severity scores, safety context, training history, and behavioral notes.

Walk and Training Logs

Data you enter when logging walks: triggers encountered, reaction intensity, distance, duration, outcome, recovery time, incidents, plan compliance, and optional notes.

Usage Data

We automatically collect device type, operating system, app version, pages visited, and interaction patterns to improve the Service. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous, privacy-friendly website analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Generate personalized training plans and AI coaching recommendations
• Track your dog's progress and provide data-driven insights
• Provide recovery-aware plans, progress signals, and safety guidance
• Improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Send you important service updates and, with your consent, product news

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share anonymized, aggregated data for research purposes. We share data with service providers (hosting, analytics, email) only as necessary to operate the Service, under strict data processing agreements.

5. Location Data

PawZen does not currently provide GPS walk tracking or a community trigger map today. If location-based features are introduced later, they will be clearly disclosed and controlled before use.

6. AI Coach and Your Data

The AI Coach uses your dog's profile and training history to provide personalized advice. Your coach chat messages are stored in your PawZen account (linked to your active dog profile) so you can resume a conversation after signing out, refreshing, or switching devices. They are processed to generate responses and are not used to train third-party AI models. We may use anonymized, aggregated interaction patterns to improve our own coaching algorithms.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can export all your data at any time from your account settings. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized data that has already been contributed to aggregate datasets may be retained.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent or object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@pawzen.app.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
