PawZen ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described herein.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name and your dog's name.

Dog Profile Data

Information you provide about your dog during the assessment and ongoing use: breed, age, weight, triggers, reactivity severity scores, training history, and behavioral notes.

Walk and Training Logs

Data you enter when logging walks: triggers encountered, reaction intensity, distance, duration, outcome, and optional GPS location data for trigger mapping.

Usage Data

We automatically collect device type, operating system, app version, pages visited, and interaction patterns to improve the Service. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous, privacy-friendly website analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Generate personalized training plans and AI coaching recommendations
• Track your dog's progress and provide data-driven insights
• Display community trigger maps (location data is anonymized)
• Improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Send you important service updates and, with your consent, product news

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share anonymized, aggregated data for research purposes. We share data with service providers (hosting, analytics, email) only as necessary to operate the Service, under strict data processing agreements.

5. Location Data

GPS data is collected only when you explicitly log a walk with location enabled. Location data contributed to the community trigger map is anonymized — it cannot be traced back to you or your dog. You can disable location features at any time in your device settings.

6. AI Coach and Your Data

The AI Coach uses your dog's profile and training history to provide personalized advice. Your conversations with the AI Coach are processed to generate responses but are not used to train third-party AI models. We may use anonymized, aggregated interaction patterns to improve our own coaching algorithms.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can export all your data at any time from your account settings. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized data that has already been contributed to aggregate datasets (e.g., trigger maps) may be retained.

9. Your Rights

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
